Table games at Duel come in three versions, and they are priced very differently:
- Live dealer tables: real cards and wheels on a stream. Normal house edge, 50% rakeback. See the live casino guide.
- Software tables: Evolution’s First Person range plus a few others. Same rules as live, dealt by a random number generator, faster and with lower minimums. Normal edge, 50% rakeback.
- Duel Originals: Blackjack, Video Poker and Castle Roulette, built in-house, provably fair, and at 0% edge inside the daily Zero Edge allowance.
If cost per hand matters to you, that last group is where to sit. If you want variety, the software and live tables are below.
First Person: the same game without the dealer
Every game on this page is an Evolution First Person title, which is worth explaining properly because the name tells you nothing. These are the studio’s live games rebuilt as software: same rules, same paytables, same visual language, but the outcome comes from a random number generator instead of a dealer and a physical wheel or shoe.
The practical differences are speed and stake. Nobody is waiting for other players to act, so a First Person hand resolves in seconds rather than the 30 to 60 a live table takes. Minimum stakes run lower, because there is no studio to fund. And the table is always free.
Several of them are cheaper than the live version
| Game | RTP | House edge |
|---|---|---|
| First Person Lightning Blackjack | 99.56% | 0.44% |
| First Person Video Poker | 99.54% | 0.46% |
| First Person Blackjack | 99.29% | 0.71% |
| First Person Baccarat | 98.94% | 1.06% |
| First Person Lightning Baccarat | 98.76% | 1.24% |
| First Person American Roulette | 94.74% | 5.26% |
The median across the 17 software tables is 97.84%, comfortably above the live floor’s 97.30% roulette median, and First Person Lightning Blackjack at 99.56% is one of the best returns available anywhere on the site. The catch sits at the bottom of that table: First Person American Roulette carries the same 5.26% edge as its live counterpart. The software version of a bad bet is still a bad bet.
What you give up
Two things, and they matter to different people. There is no dealer, so if the appeal of live casino is watching a human handle real cards, this is not a substitute. And an RNG outcome cannot be verified the way Duel’s own Originals can, you are trusting Evolution’s certification rather than checking a seed hash yourself. Neither live nor First Person tables fall under Zero Edge; both earn the standard 50% rakeback.
Elsewhere in the game library: the live dealer floor runs the human version of every table here, and the slot catalogue covers 1,716 titles with a published RTP.
Every software table and its RTP
Alongside the live floor Duel runs a set of software table games, First Person blackjack, roulette, baccarat and poker, dealt by a random number generator instead of a human. They run faster, stake lower, and several carry a better RTP than the live equivalent:

Quick rules for any table
- Learn the one or two cheapest bets on each game and ignore the side bets. Side bets are where tables make their money.
- Avoid American roulette, live or software. The double zero roughly doubles the edge.
- On blackjack, basic strategy is the difference between a small edge and a donation.
Software and live tables are not provably fair in the seed-and-hash sense; you rely on the provider’s certification. Duel’s Originals are the ones you can verify yourself. Set a budget before you sit down; our responsible gambling page has the tools.
