Crash Game Strategy: Auto Cash-Out Odds and What the Maths Says (2026)

Short version: no Crash strategy beats the house edge, but choosing a cash-out target is simple maths. In a crash game whose return is the same at every target, the chance of reaching a multiplier x is RTP ÷ x, so a 2x cash-out wins about half the time and a 10x cash-out about one round in ten, whatever else you do. Duel’s Crash runs at 100% RTP inside the daily Zero Edge allowance ($50,000 wagered a day, $1,000 max bet) and, according to Duel, uses the drand randomness beacon so that no one, including Duel, can manipulate a round. The odds tables are below, and the game is covered on Duel Crash.

How Crash Works

Crash starts a multiplier at 1x and lets it climb until it crashes at a random point. You win bet × multiplier if you cash out before the crash, and lose the bet if you are still in when it happens. Duel lets you set an optional auto cash-out multiplier, run two bets at once with its dual-bet feature, and shows a live feed of real-money bets with no fake bets. The crash points are verified through the drand beacon (League of Entropy), a public source of randomness that neither the casino nor the player controls.

Crash Odds by Cash-Out Target

Cash-out target Chance to reach it (100% RTP) Chance (99.9% RTP) Wins roughly once every
1.2x 83.3% 83.3% 1 in 1.2
1.5x 66.7% 66.6% 1 in 1.5
2x 50.0% 50.0% 1 in 2
3x 33.3% 33.3% 1 in 3
5x 20.0% 20.0% 1 in 5
10x 10.0% 9.99% 1 in 10
25x 4.00% 4.00% 1 in 25
50x 2.00% 2.00% 1 in 50
100x 1.00% 0.999% 1 in 100

For a crash game whose return is the same at every target, the chance of reaching a multiplier x is RTP ÷ x. The last column rounds 1 ÷ chance at 100% RTP.

Crash Strategies Compared

Approach How it plays The catch
Low target (1.2x to 1.5x) Wins most rounds in small amounts One early crash erases many wins; the return is still the RTP
Middle target (2x to 3x) Roughly one win in two or three rounds Long losing runs are normal; see the streak table
High target (10x and up) Rare, large wins Dry spells of dozens of rounds are routine
Dual bet (two targets) A low target covers the losses of a high one Blends two variances; the expected return does not change
Martingale (double after a loss) Recovers losses with one win A losing run or the $1,000 Zero Edge max bet ends it

Strategy changes the shape of your results, not the long-run average.

Losing Streaks Are Normal

The table below shows how likely a long losing streak is somewhere in 1,000 rounds. High targets lose most rounds by design, so streaks that feel like a rigged game are exactly what the maths predicts.

Losing streak At a 2x target (1,000 rounds) At a 5x target At a 10x target
5 losses in a row 100.0% 100.0% 100.0%
10 losses in a row 38.5% 100.0% 100.0%
15 losses in a row 1.50% 100.0% 100.0%
20 losses in a row 0.047% 90.8% 100.0%
30 losses in a row 1 in 2,209,346 21.6% 99.2%

Chance of at least one streak of that length somewhere in 1,000 rounds, assuming independent rounds at 100% RTP.

A Sensible Crash Routine

  1. Decide the target before you bet and use the auto cash-out so emotion cannot move it.
  2. Match the target to your goal. Frequent small wins and rare big ones are the same expected return.
  3. Use dual bet deliberately or not at all. It spreads variance but does not add an edge.
  4. Set a session limit for losses and for wins, and stop when you reach either.
  5. Keep bets within the daily Zero Edge allowance ($50,000 wagered a day, $1,000 max bet) to keep the 100% RTP.

Crash Myths

  • “Low crashes are followed by a big one.” Rounds are independent, so earlier crash points do not predict the next.
  • “Waiting for the multiplier to cool off.” There is nothing to cool. Each round is drawn fresh.
  • “Cashing out early always works.” A 1.2x target wins about 83 rounds in 100, but the 17 losses cost you the whole stake each time.
  • “Martingale is safe with a big bankroll.” Doubling needs a bet that grows past any limit within a few streaks. See the martingale maths.

Niko’s Degen Take on Crash Strategy

Degen take

Crash is a discipline test dressed up as a game. The maths says a 2x cash-out wins about half the time forever, and the streak table says you will still see ugly runs, so do not mistake variance for a rigged game. The most degen move in Crash is raising your target mid-session after a loss to catch up.

Set the auto cash-out, pick a number and live with it. Dual bet is fun, but it does not add edge, it just lets you feel hedged. And martingale in Crash is how you meet the max-bet limit at the worst possible time.

What is the best auto cash-out for Crash?

No target has a better expected return. A 2x target wins about half the time, a 10x target about one round in ten, and both return the same on average. Choose the one that fits the variance you can handle.

Is there a pattern in Crash?

No. Each crash point is drawn independently, and on Duel the randomness comes from the drand beacon. Past rounds cannot predict future ones.

Does martingale work in Crash?

No. Doubling after each loss needs a bet that outgrows your bankroll or the max-bet limit within a few losing rounds, and a long streak is very likely in 1,000 rounds. It changes the shape of your results, not their average.

How does the dual bet work?

Dual bet lets you place two bets in the same round, each with its own cash-out target, for example a low one and a high one. It spreads your risk across two outcomes without changing the expected return.

Is Crash rigged?

Duel says Crash is verified through the drand beacon, so the outcome cannot be manipulated by the casino or the player. You can still lose often at high targets, which is normal variance rather than a rigged game.

What is the house edge in Duel Crash?

Zero inside the daily Zero Edge allowance ($50,000 wagered a day, $1,000 max bet), because a 0.1% base edge is offset by an instant 0.1% rebate. Beyond it the RTP is 99.9%. See our Zero Edge page.
