Duel Arena Tetris: Rules, Garbage Table and Controls (2026)

Short version: Tetris in Duel Arena is a head-to-head version of the classic. Every line you clear throws junk rows at your opponent, and the first stack to reach the ceiling loses. Two lines send one row, three send two and a four-line Tetris sends four, while back-to-back clears, combos, T-spins and wiping the board hit harder. There is a free Play Demo mode with no opponent. We read the rules panel and tried the free mode, but we did not play for stakes.

How Tetris Works in Duel Arena

Two players, one goal: bury the other player. You slot the falling pieces together so that whole rows fill up, and full rows disappear. Every line you clear throws junk rows at your opponent. When their pile hits the ceiling they top out and you win, and if yours does, you are the one who goes. With no opponent available, Play Demo lets you stack in peace.

Garbage: How Much Each Clear Sends

Lines cleared at once Junk rows sent
1 line None
2 lines 1 row
3 lines 2 rows
4 lines (a Tetris) 4 rows

Garbage appears at the bottom of your board with a single gap to dig through. Clearing lines yourself first cancels incoming junk before it ever lands.

Beyond the basic table, the rules call out the moves that hurt most. Clear on back-to-back pieces to run a combo, and the longer the streak, the harder you hit. Chain Tetrises or spins without a break to charge Back-to-Back for bonus damage. T-spins, where you wedge a T piece into a tight notch, and wiping the whole board clean both hit like a truck. The longer a match drags on, the more damage everyone deals, so sitting back gets you buried.

What a Match Looks Like

Tetris demo on Duel Arena: an empty board with a Hold box on the left and a Next queue of five pieces on the right
The demo board, with the Hold box on the left and a five-piece Next queue on the right.

The Play Demo screen shows a single tall board with a Hold box on the left and a Next queue of five upcoming pieces on the right. Use the queue to plan placements ahead, and the Hold box to stash a piece you cannot use yet.

Practice Before You Stake

  1. Start with Play Demo to learn the keys, especially hold, hard drop and rotation direction.
  2. Practise clearing two and three lines at once, since single lines send nothing.
  3. Watch the Next queue so you can chain clears into combos.
  4. Check the stake and any fee in the lobby before a real match; we could not find a published Arena fee.

18+ only. Arena matches are played for stakes and carry a real risk of loss. Play within your means and see our responsible gambling page.

Niko’s Degen Take on Arena Tetris

Degen take

Tetris with money on it is the purest git-gud game in the Arena. There is no hidden information, the Hold box and the five-piece queue are right there, and nobody can bluff you. The whole meta is in the garbage table: single lines send nothing, so if you are clearing one row at a time you are just stalling while the other player sends you junk. Stack for fours, hold the right piece, cancel incoming rows before they land.

T-spins and back-to-back streaks are where it gets nasty, and the rules say damage grows the longer a match runs, so sitting back is how you get buried. If your Tetris is rusty, the demo will expose it in about ninety seconds. If you already play competitively you may have a genuine edge over the average lobby. If not, keep it tiny and enjoy the stack.
